The Consortium members met with the Director of the Center Zermaa Todgerel. He spoke about the areas of work of the Center, including management of information systems; a unified educational network for public schools; data collection, processing and storage of electronic management systems; support of the national system (LMS) for digital learning. The Center is responsible for electronic educational content (E-content) for digital learning. Before and during the pandemic, textbooks were digitized and tele-lessons in all subjects were actively developed. Currently, the goal of creating 40-minute lessons in every school subject is being realized. Two thousand lessons have been developed and two thousand more are in process. Teachers create the educational E-lessons themselves, which are selected and approved by a specially created group of 25 experts according to the relevant requirements and criteria. Lessons are purchased from the developers - teachers (about $35 per lesson). School teachers are previously trained to create the online lessons.
More than 5,000 school teachers have participated in the development of e-learning content, of which about 200 teachers have been recognized as the best online lesson developers.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia plans to create an e-school for children living outside the country, Digital School to study subjects of choice (in 10th grade) online. The Home education package will soon be approved as an alternative education. E-learning content is available to Mongolian students through an arrangement with cell phone providers who do not charge for the use of the educational platform. The center has also created a modular professional development platform for teachers, who now do not need to travel to Ulaanbaatar and can take the training online and pass a test at the end.
