Consortium participation in EPIC 2023: promoting innovation in the Central Asian region

In June 2023, the project team of Consortium - Taalim-Forum (Kyrgyzstan), Nomadic Nature Conservation (Mongolia), Anahita (Tajikistan) organizations actively participated in the II International Conference EPIC-2023 https://norrag.zohobackstage.eu/EPIC2023#/.  As an official partner of the event along with 30 other international, regional and local organizations and educational institutions, Taalim-Forum provided extensive informational support via the organization's social media reaching researchers, education experts and practitioners.

In the session The use of technology in the post-COVID-19 era, Jyldyz Doolbekova, Project Manager, and Abduvokhid Safarov, Country Coordinator for Tajikistan, presented on the topic Digital transformation of school education in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan: trends & challenges. The Project's Research and Knowledge Mobilization Assistant, Meerim Baymbetova, gave a presentation A teacher as a driver of innovations: some insights from the research in Kyrgyzstan in the Conference session Lessons learned from scaling innovations. Tungalagtuya Khuuhenduu, Country Coordinator (Mongolia), participated in the session Approaches for addressing inequity and low quality in education and presented on Ensuring access and equality of education in Mongolia. Almagul Osmonova, Director of Taalim-Forum and Aigerim Jolchubekova, Communications and IT Assistant, presented analysis and recommendations in the presentation Teacher professional development in Kyrgyzstan: Analysis and recommendations for reform in the session with a focus on experiences in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

In total, six team members gave four presentations based on qualitative and quantitative research data from the three countries as part of the research project Distance Education to improve Quality and Access to  School Education.

All presentations attracted the interest of the audience and colleagues from other countries and the feedback received underlined the importance of the ongoing large-scale research in the three countries of the Consortium.
