On September 2, 2022 a meeting was held between the members of the Consortium implementing the project "Distance education to improve the quality and access in Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and Tajikistan" and the head of the Digital Transformation and Statistics Department, Mr. Namsrai Monhsanchir at the General Education Authority office under the Ministry of Education of Mongolia. At the meeting, Mr. Monhsanchir detailed the work areas of the Ministry of Education on digital transformation, spoke about what is done to ensure Internet access to all public schools, how the content of e-learning resources is created. To date, all educational buildings and dormitories are actively connected to fiber-optic Internet, and various electronic services are being developed.
Among the priority goals are to provide all teachers and students with devices (electronic devices), to increase the digital literacy of teachers and students. Among the challenges of digital transformation in education were named: the need to improve the national database, identifying the level of achievement of students, developing a plan to eliminate lags and gaps in knowledge as a result of the pandemic, the transformation of teacher training and updating of curricula.
Consortium members were interested to learn that electronic content (online resources and tele-lessons) was created by the best teachers during the pandemic. The ministry developed requirements and a system of competitive selection of lessons, which were paid for. The prestige and status of teachers whose work was included in the National Platform of Electronic Resources increased, and teachers received a pay raise.
